Aaliyah Dana Haughton and Aarti Mann

Aaliyah Daniel Haughton shot to stardom in 1994 with the release of her first album Age Ain't Anything But a Numer. The album, made available at just fifteen years old it went Gold. The group was highly inspired by R. Kelly, and helped put her onto the scene. In 1996 she worked alongside Jermaine Dupri and Timbaland for her second album One In A Million which contained the number-one hit single If You Only Knew. Aaliyah's sophomore album entitled One in a Million came out in the year 1996. It contained the number-one song, a huge hit, If Your Girl Only Knew. The year 2000 saw her starred alongside the martial arts icon Jet Li as Jet Li in Romeo Must Die. Joel Silver, film producer and director of Romeo Must Die, spotted her at an award ceremony. Queen of the Damned was her first role in 2002. It is based off the Anne Rice novel. The Matrix Sequels saw her playing Zee, after appearing on The Matrix Reloaded (2003) and The Matrix Revolutions that same year. She has received four Grammy nominations between 1999 and 2003. The actress is Indian American of the her first generation, of origin born in Connecticut. Mann is the abbreviation for her first name in marriage, Mankad. Aarti has both Aarti Majumdar as well as Aarti Munn for her professional names. Although she began her acting career with minor TV and film roles her acting career gained speed in the late 2000s. In addition, she has appeared on Leverage, Suits, Grey's Anatomy and Grey's Anatomy. The actress has been featured in commercials for big brands such as international automobile manufacturer Volvo. She currently lives with her family in Los Angeles along with her wife, son and daughter. She also pursues her acting career.
